MIKE Stampfer (pictured above right), managing director of Suomi Print and Design accuses BT of being "all mouth and no action" when it comes to bringing ADSL to Clifton Moor, which he describes as "York's premiere trading estate."
If he is angry it is because, he says, he has continually delayed installing an ISDN connection because of assurances that the faster broadband route was to be available.
"We need it. Last year Suomi invested £30,000 in a computer-to-plate system and the advanced technology along with the savings to our customers particularly on full colour, means that we are getting a great deal more top quality work.
"But in one area we feel we are the poor relation in not having access to the broadband Internet connection.
"Recently we produced a fairly large full colour catalogue and we dealt with about six different advertising agencies and designers representing top national customers.
"Each one asked us to send their large files over the Internet but we had to ask to send them on CD discs instead.
"That's about as embarrassing as being asked to send something by fax and having to tell the customer that you haven't got one."
Now, in the certain knowledge that his area was outside the three mile broadband radius for ADSL he would be forced to seek other options.
