YORK residents can now take advantage of a unique opportunity to visit one of the city's top visitor attractions for half price from now until the end of January 2002.
York Card holders need only bring their card to Jorvik in Coppergate with a proof of residency, giving them the cut-price entry to the popular site.
Taking advantage of the offer also entitles you to a free entry voucher for next year when accompanied by a full-paying adult.
"This is an excellent money-saving opportunity for York's residents to re-acquaint themselves with Jorvik following its redevelopment and reopening earlier this year," said marketing manager Janet Burrows.
"By taking advantage of the free entry voucher that can be used next year, you have the perfect chance to bring visiting friends and relatives to Jorvik and save money too."
The centre whisks visitors through an authentic reconstruction of how York would have looked, sounded and smelled in AD 975. Everything on show is based solely on archaeological evidence unearthed during the Coppergate dig of the 1970s.
