WITH reference to the photo of a typical rush-hour scene in the Planet York supplement (November 14) half of the cars shown in the picture do not need to be there, but they have to, to get over Skeldergate Bridge.
They have to go all the way up Fishergate, Fawcett Street and back down Fishergate, which is totally unnecessary.
There is a perfectly good roundabout at St George's Field. If City of York Council want to cut down on congestion and pollution the first thing they need to do is stop causing it in the first place.
