Poppleton Road Red Stars tasted success for the first time in this their debut John Smith's Sunday League season after a thrilling 7-6 win at Beefeater in division six.
Paul Thompson slotted home the opener for Poppleton early on but Beefeater bounced back through James and Overton to lead 2-1. Craig Suttle put the visitors level by half time.
In a remarkable second half Poppleton raced into a 5-2 lead through Potter, Thompson and Sutton but once again Beefeater came back strongly to level through Clark, Day and Lorains.
With ten minutes left Dave Balley once again swung the advantage Stars' way with a header only for Sam James to make it 6-6.
With time running Suttle to complete his hat-trick with a delicate left foot chip over the advancing 'keeper to give Poppleton a memorable victory.
Paul Hughes hit six goals as Barlby beat First York 12-3.

Goals from Jack Wilson and Moulds restored Magnet's two-goal cushion but once again Pack rallied as Brundrette and Ducey, completing his hat-trick made it 5-5.
Paul Downes clinched victory for FC Magnet with a goal in the dying moments. Featherstone scored twice for Zafs but still ended on the losing side as Hounds won 3-2.
Severus WMC won 3-2 with a late winner from Jones, his second of the game against Wigginton for whom Jamie Steel and Adam Wash were on target.

Broadbent (2) and Joe Gardham netted as Bishopthorpe beat Copmanthorpe 3-0. Nestl Flag hit form as they thumped St Clement's WMC 6-0 with the pick of their goals a 40-yarder from Helnfich.
In division four's match of the day, York Nomads defeated Black Bull 4-2 with goals from Robinson (2), Crosby and Shaw, Smallwood scoring both for Black Bull.
Two goals each by Ben Coates and Tom Coates and one from Rob Murphy saw Wigginton GH move into second place with a 5-0 win over Derwent United Reserves.

Seb Towse scored twice for division five side Greyhound but they lost 3-2 to Wanderers whose goals came from Murray, Fisher and Hartas.
