NEW leaders of the Focus Fireplaces York and District Table Tennis League division one are Sessions 'A' after their 8-2 win over Coneysthorpe 'B'.
Nigel Thorn and Mick Willcockson had three wins each for Sessions.
Fulford Road WMC 'A' were beaten 7-3 by Bootham Conservative Club 'A', whose Steve Cooper won all three.
Poppleton 'A' went down 6-4 to INL 'A'. Richard Moss was unbeaten for Poppleton while Chris Abbott won his first games of the season for INL.
Poppleton bounced back to draw 5-5 with York RI 'B' with Mark Smith winning three matches.
Three wins by John Wooldridge were not enough to stop Bootham Conservative Club 'B' going down 7-3 to York RI 'A'. Alfie Potter was unbeaten in INL 'A's 6-4 win over Coneysthorpe 'A'.
In division two, Jill Schofield won all three for Nestl Rowntree 'B' in their 5-5 draw with leaders Poppleton 'B'.
Sessions 'B' are chasing Poppleton hard after beating BT 'A' 7-3 in which Terry Nicholson and Keith Elsegood both won three times.
York RI 'C' beat their 'D' team 7-3, Chris Tiffany winning three for the 'C' team.
Martin Symons won three for INL 'C' but finished on the losing side as Northern Electric won 6-4. Ed Wardman's three wins helped Fulford Road WMC 'B' draw 5-5 with Nestl Rowntree 'A'.
Poppleton 'C' had an easy 8-2 win over Fulford Road WMC 'C' in division three. Chris Armstrong and Jack Kaprian were both unbeaten.
Poppleton 'D' moved up after their 7-3 win over Terry's. John Lloyd won all three for Poppleton.
Norwich Union 'A' have gone to the top of division four. Adrian Church won all three as NU beat Shepherds 'B' 7-3.
York RI 'G' are second after beating Poppleton 'F' 8-2, Richard Leafe winning three for them, but they then lost 6-4 to INL 'D'.
Norwich Union 'B' managed a 5-5 draw with York RI 'H'. Paul Webster won all three for Norwich Union and Sue Sim won her first game of the season.
Nestl Rowntree 'C' and Sessions 'C' drew 5-5, but Nestl Rowntree 'C' then beat Shepherds 'C' 7-3.
Richard Falkingham was unbeaten for Nestl Rowntree and on his return Steve Maul won two for them.
In last week's Evening Press report it was published that Mark Smith (Poppleton) beat Steve Cooper (Bootham Conservative Club 'C), but in fact it was the other way round and Steve Cooper was the player to win all three.
