I AM concerned about two planning matters involving the A19 in Fulford.
With regard to the Germany Beck plan, what measures have been included to avoid an estate of perhaps 2,000 or more people having its one and only vehicle access cut by flooding? Or to stop it causing even more congestion on Fulford Road, which is already often queued back along the A19 south of the bypass in the morning rush?
There is also a connection with the proposed Park and Ride access from MacArthurGlen on to Naburn Lane. Namely, that it will do no good at all at peak times unless there are effective measures to get the buses out on to Fulford Road, which would be hard enough now.
Painting lines (the council's present proposal) simply won't do it. In fact nothing will, except constructing a short bus-only slip lane, perhaps with its own light phase (like those on Hull Road and The Mount approaching Holgate Road) where it would join the main road at the new A19/Germany Beck estate junction
