EXPERIENCED Mark Patterson, 36, who has played over 500 League games with a variety of Lancashire clubs, is set to become player-coach at Scarborough.
Patterson has been playing for UniBond League side Rossendale United but is poised to take control of on-field matters at the McCain Stadium for new manager Russell Slade.
Patterson's former clubs include Blackpool, Preston and Bolton.
Slade is hoping to sign a new striker tomorrow and is anxious to bring in a goalkeeper in the short term as cover for Andy Woods who starts a two-match ban on Saturday when Boro entertain Farnborough in a Nationwide Conference clash.
