New Earswick All Blacks under-14s held out for a 28-24 win over a spirited Drighlington side.
Jack Goodacre opened All Blacks' scoring, with the visitors replying with two converted tries and a goal before Daryl North hit back with a try plus Danny Pfluger goal.
All Blacks forged a lead after the break as Ross Divorty (2), Goodacre and the superb James Goodwin scored fine tries, man-of-the-match Pfluger converting one, before Drig' clawed their way back into it.
In-form New Earswick All Blacks U12s won a see-sawing thriller versus Upton 30-22. Dale Hunt scored two long-range tries and Lee Rollinson a brilliant brace, while Joe Davis and Oliver Powers excelled. Upton were always in it until Elliot Bridges broke three tackles to score late on. Josh Cockerill kicked all the extras.
A scratch Heworth U13s team turned in a powerful display at Shaw Cross to win 39-0.
The big home side were overrun by Heworth's enthusiasm and skill, with tries scored by Imi Lewis (3), Danny Allan (2), Chris Peace and Gareth Watson. Allan kicked nine points and Ben Potter a goal.
York Acorn U16s gave a good account for two thirds of their tussle with leaders East Leeds before losing 44-12. Impressive for Acorn were Danny Caldwell and Kevin Brayshaw, Caldwell notching two tries and Darren Hay one.
York Acorn U15s found the going tough in a friendly at higher league Dudley Hill, losing 52-4. Try-scorer Danny Holder, Luke Noone and Gavin Dickinson played well.
York Acorn U12s produced a much improved display to draw 16-16 with Stanley Rangers.
Especially impressive was stand-off Mark Sanderson, who crowned his display with two tries. Matthew Fairclough also notched a brace.
An understrength York Acorn U11s did well despite losing 26-12 to a more experienced East Leeds.
Acorn were unlucky to be 10-6 down at the break, while the efforts of man of the match Danny Whittaker, Gary Sissons, Lewis Sharp and Luke Watling kept them in contention. Acorn's try-scorer was Watling, who added the goals.
York Acorn U10s stormed to a double over Rodley Rockets, winning by 6 tries and 4 goals then by 6 tries and 2 goals to nil.
Tyler Clark and David Jefferson notched their first points for the club with a goal apiece, while Ben Johnson (5), Rob Dickson (3), Anthony Chilton (2), Ricky James and Joshua Mortimer scored tries, with James, Johnson, Chilton and Mortimer adding goals. Jordan Hyde was top performer.
