TWO talented lovebirds are singing for their wedding supper on the streets of York.
Hannah Mason, 24, and Nick Ransley, 34, who live in Shipley, are bringing opera to the masses as they try to raise enough money to get married next Spring.
The pair, who met at the Guildhall School of Music in London about five years ago and got engaged in June, have taken to the streets of the city between tours.
They say the reception they have received from people has been amazing.
Hannah, a mezzo soprano, said: "It's fun, the reaction from people is just lovely, everyone is so warm and so spontaneous. That's really why we are doing it.
"As professional singers we go out and we do concerts, operas and weddings, but they don't run back to back and we just thought this would be fun - we don't do it very often."
Tenor Nick said: "We are singing to people who wouldn't normally hear opera. A lot of people like it and it's an unexpected surprise for them."
The couple are inviting many of their singing colleagues to their wedding in April and are expecting them all to raise their voices at the celebration.
