New Earswick boxer Danny Wright has marched into the semi-finals of the Novice Senior Championships after his latest victory in the ring.
Wright, 24, the Yorkshire and Humberside and North Eastern Counties champion, beat his North Western counterpart, W Hussain, on points in their contest in Sheffield.
Fighting at middleweight (75kg), Wright's victory over his opponent, who fought out of the Oliver's Boxing Club in Liverpool, would have been more decisive but he was docked a point in the second round.
Fighting out of the Hunslet Boys Club, Wright's semi-final will be staged on December 1, against an as yet unnamed opponent.
