A KARAOKE night at a York club raised £900 for the Macmillan Nurses in memory of a former member.
The evening at Burnholme Social Club was organised by Pete Freeman, of New Earswick, in memory of his wife, Sandra, a former lady member, who died from cancer 18 months ago.
Marj Pearson, Pete's sister, said the evening had been a real success, with many members getting up to sing, including Pete.
Businesses in the area also donated many prizes for a raffle. Marj said they would like to thank them all, in particular Provident Personal Credit Ltd, Shopacheck Financial Services Ltd and CLC Finance.
"We would also like to thank Geoff Richardson for all his help," she said.
The evening was the second event to be held in Sandra's memory; the first was in aid of Macmillan Nurses and St Leonard's Hospice.
