VOLUNTEERS moved to the top of division one of the John Smiths Sunday Football League with a resounding 6-1 win over Pack of Cards.
The match was all but won by half-time as goals from Lee Bond (2), Steve Ward, Luke Bilham and Patrick Gaughan to a single strike from Neil Ducey for Pack saw Volunteers lead 5-1.
A late second goal for Ward completed the scoring as Volunteers maintained their 100 per cent winning record.
Jack Wilson hit a hat-trick with Fairburn, Barker and Barnes scoring one apiece as FC Magnet gained their first points of the season with a 6-2 win over Zafs to move off the bottom.
Garry Carter scored the quickest goal of the day inside 30 seconds to give Carlton the lead against Derwent Arms in their division two game.
Jeremy Catchpole headed a second before Andrew Triffitt pulled one back for Derwent who then drew level through Dave Wilson.
Carter volleyed Carlton into the lead with what looked to be the winner with two minutes remaining but there was still time for Mark Andrews to pop in an equaliser.
Blacksmiths Arms opened up a four-point lead at the top courtesy of two goals from Graham Astle and one apiece from Darren Heels and John Griffin in their 4-0 win over Fulford Bay.
Selby Olympia had goalkeeper Milner sent off after only ten minutes against Jubilee and immediately went behind to a Mark Moore strike.
Selby were galvanised by the dismisal and hit back through Harkin, Fawcett and an own goal to hold a 3-1 half-time lead. Strong second half pressure only earned Jubilee a Paul Salkeld goal as ten-man Selby won 3-2.
Derwent United came back from Shipton with a 7-0 win with Wilford and Ward netting two apiece.
The Mount returned to winning ways in division three with a 3-2 win over Beeswing with goals from Nicholson, Henderson and Brown.
Parkin hit a hat-trick as Wilberfoss gained their first points with a 5-3 win over St Clemens WMC for whom Ben Smart scored twice.
In division four, York Nomads moved to the top on goal difference despite being held to a 2-2 draw by Wigginton Grasshoppers. Crosby and Neads netted for Nomads while an own goal and Green accounted for Grasshoppers' goals.
Ian Ferguson scored twice as Haxby Lions triumphed 5-0 at Derwent United Reserves. Acomb Celtic won by the same scoreline at Keystones with Ian Hufton scoring twice.
Greyhound competed well in the first half in their clash with division five leaders Opticare but collapsed in the second period to go down 7-1 with Bostock hitting four for the visitors.
Parker also scored four as Heworth trounced Northern Spirit 11-1 with Page and Dexter weighing in with two apiece.
Matt Topham opened the scoring for Inland Revenue with a 25 yard drive. Mark Lund added a second midway through the first half. Knavesmire pulled level on the hour but David Lund secured a 3-2 win for Revenue with a winner ten minutes from time.
Goals from McLeod, Harper and England gave Sporting Civil Service a 3-0 win over Wanderers.
Barlby Athletic lost their 100 per cent record when they went down 2-1 at home to Kings Arms courtesy of goals from Simmons and Knowles. Paul Hughes netted for Barlby
Sam Jones scored twice as Beefeater overcame Northern Wall 5-0.
In a topsy turvy game at Hambleton both teams held the lead before settling for a point each in a 3-3 draw.
Dave Williams hit a hat-trick for Burton Stone, the pick of his goals being a 35-yard lob over the Hambleton keeper. Hambleton's equaliser came direct from a corner. CPP defeated Poppleton Road Red Stars 4-1 with Potter scoring the Stars' consolation goal.
