BURNHOLME almost let a 4-1 half-time lead slip against Boy & Barrel in the third round of the York FA Sunday Junior Cup.
John Thornton's hat-trick and a Dave Bonner goal put Burnholme in command but the game turned on its head in the second half as Chris Collier netted his second goal and Glenn Littlewood added another but Boy and barrel couldn't quite force extra time.
BH Colts beat Otis Bar 3-2 with goals from Chris Burgess, Sam Brown and Ben Smallwood. Bar's goals were both scored by Tom Gibson.
Acomb SC proved to be too strong for London York winning 3-0 with goals by Vinnie Wray (2) and a Paul Holder penalty.
The shock result was the 4-2 defeat of division three Bishopthorpe by fourth Black Bull thanks to goals by James Barrett (2), Stu Scott and Daniel Lindsey.
