Flag's Gordon Foster found a fine 180 for 21 darts, but was their only winner against Shepherd 'A' who had 18 darts from Rod Thompson well supported by Chas Ramsden and Kevin Walton.

Phil Smith opened for Vaults with 21 darts and then was asked to clinch the decider with Garry Strider against Yearsley.

The leaders Sun strode to a 6-3 win against Saddle, whose best player was Steve Swinthenbank. Tony Cooper shot 19 darts while Chris Thompson (180) partnered Chris Brown, who ended 701 with a two dart 91, for 23 darts.

Division two leaders Osbaldwick crushed Institute 'B', whose lone winner was Phil Taylor.

Second-placed Cygnet 'B' were pushed by Institute 'A' to take the last game for victory. Derek and Ian Hartley came up trumps and Trevor Flint had a fine 180.

Holgate lost the plot when going down 7-2 at Horseman, who had Pete Edwards out in 21 darts, while 20 darts from Chris Flanagan hoisted Groves up the table with a 6-3 over Swan.

Kev Pallister (20) put Green Tree 'A' to a 6-3 score at Phoenix, but wide margin wins from Steve Smith then Chris Pallister - Colin Hall collected a point.

John Wheldon checked a fine 112 finish then made it 5-4 to Sun 'B' at Slip with Steve Wheldon.
