The match priority draw for York Amalgation waters took place this week, with a healthy number of 27 clubs in the hat, an increase of two on last year.

Huntington came out top and will have their pick of the cream of York waters.

The full list, in descending order of priority, is: Huntington; York RI; Black Horse; Pudsey; New Earswick; BRS; Local; Stillingfleet; Acomb; Clifton; Poppleton; Bishopthorpe and Acaster; York GPO; Post Office; Ben Johnson; White Rose; Burton Stone; YAA; Monkhill; Sea Horse; Cygnet; Burnholme; Shepherds; Royal Oak; Transco; Tang Hall Match Group; Tang Hall WMC.

Good news this week on the foot and mouth front. With no record new cases for over a month several fisheries are once again open for business the most significant of which is Beningbrough Park.

The stretches at the village and below are also open. On the Derwent both Kirkham sections and the water at Sutton are also available again.

Competitors in the Yorkshire Winter League should note that the next round scheduled for the Calder has been switched to its original intended location following lifting of access restrictions

The third leg which will be fished on November 25 will now be taking place at Hunters Lodge, Widdington and Linton on Ouse.

City Arms angling club will be holding their annual meeting next Friday, starting at 8pm.

Following the sale of their home the event will be moved across the road on Fawcett Street to the Sea Horse.

The presentations of the year's trophies, which this season saw the Wallis clan of Andy and Ken clean up, will be made.
