Nestl Rowntree Athletics Club Under-11 boys' team won the team event at the Sewerby Open cross-country meeting at Bridlington. They won with ten points.
Scoring runners were Peter Wise (2nd), Kieran Smith (3rd) and Freddie Hall (5th). Other runners were Sam Eadington (8th), Oliver Palmer (8th), Michael Leese (12th) and Bruce Potter (13th).
The Under-11 girls' team were edged out by five points by Scunthorpe and District. The York girls' finishing positions were Sophie Hunter (5th), Natalie Jones (7th), Katie Hunter (10th) and Hannah Riddell (22nd).
The Under-13 boys' and girls' races were won by Hull runners, with Rowntree runners Philip Graves, James Palmer and Richard Wilcock finishing 4th, 9th and 14th respectively.
Victoria Graves, Laura Hunter and Sarah Corbett finished 3rd, 7th and 14th in the girls' race.
Paul Priestley finished third junior - and 14th overall - in the men's category.
On the same day as the Sewerby event, Rowntree runners were in action in the North Yorkshire/South Durham League and West Yorkshire League events.
Nicola Lampard finished 17th in the Under-15 girls race in the WYL event at Leeds, and Nina Griffith (4th) and Aimee Collett (6th) showed early season promise in the Under-17 race.
Rowntree senior men's team finished second in the NYSDL event at Middlesbrough while the Under-13 girls won their event thanks to Sophie Boynton (2nd), Nina Batt (3rd) and Charlotte Maxted (9th). Other finishers were Alice McCabe (15th), Frances McCormick (19th), Helen Webster (25th) and Leigh Daniels (56th).
A strong field of about 50 athletes of all ages is expected to compete in the Hull open fixture at Bishop Burton College on Sunday. The first race starts at 11am.
