They might well soon have to start running Yorkshire-only matches at the Oaks following another Red Rose rout at the Sessay, North Yorkshire complex.

Former Anglers Mail Kamasan winners battled it out, with 1998-99 winner John Bradshaw (Sensas Gabolino) scoring his second win in as many visits.

Pegged on 22, he fished the bottom of the far ledge at 12 metres. After cupping in Sillybait he used a mini pot to drip feed less than half a pint of maggots.

His softly-softly approach paid dividends as he netted a string of small carp to top the 64-peg match with 67lb 11oz.

Runner-up was last year's Matchman of the Year Andy May (Daves of Middlewich). Fishing from peg 28 he opted for a similar attack to Bradhsaw's and netted carp to 3lb from an 11 metre line for his 57lb 7oz

Others: Daz Shaw (Sensas Garbolino) 50-3-0; Gordon Poole (MAP Elton) 36-2-0; Paul Evans (Boston Spa) and Steve Cooper (Bradford) both 35-14-0.

Sunday's 51 entry match suffered the ill effects of cooling waters at the Woodlands complex, with the success of feeder tactics emphasising the changing seasons.

Lyndon Roberts (MAP Elton) led from Skylark lake, which also accounted for the runner-up and third-placed competitor.

Fishing at peg 24 Roberts began at 13 metres with corn over pellets and fishmeal. After taking about 20lb of carp the peg died and he switched to a 25 metre line with maggot feeder for the rest of his all carp 46lb 11oz.

Phil Smith (Robin Hood) alternated corn and maggot at 13 metres from Skylark 6, where he netted a string of better carp, with fish to 6lb, in his 35lb 5oz.

Others: Andy Hampson (Hirst Tackle) 34-2-0; Nigel Hargreaves (MAP Elton) 30-10-0; Tony Neesom (MAP Elton) 27-6-0; Paul O' Donovan (Maltby) 26-8-0.
