I WISH to thank First York. For the extra exercise my children are getting now they have given up waiting for the only bus that could get them to school on time. That's okay in the mild weather but it will soon be 'can we have a lift' causing extra congestion around an already-congested school.

They did try the new improved Park and Ride to the Dormouse, but gave up after late buses, three different fares and drivers who had a problem with children using 'a service for car drivers'. In that point they are correct, but it is also the only option for a service that is all but non-existent.

Since the promised improvements to our sadly-deficient bus services have come into force we are now down to one bus at school time, if it turns up at all. I have given up complaining to the 'traffic office.' How the few remaining drivers have kept their sanity beats me, perhaps the 'cloth ears' at the top of First York and City of York Council would like to venture out and sample the early morning services, if they can find one running to schedule.

And why is it cheaper to park in town than take two adults on the Park and Ride?

...I WAS one of the 95 per cent who did not reply to the questionnaire on the new Park and Ride at Monks Cross.

I did not deem it relevant to reply, because I live in Wheldrake where we are already well served by Park and Ride facilities at the Designer Outlet and Grimston Bar.

Why was it necessary to send questionnaires to people, already well served, and who would have no obvious interest in using afacility at Monks Cross?
