THIS is the face of a rapist who attacked his victim at knifepoint.
The man grabbed the 26-year-old woman by her throat after telling her he had a knife as she walked through a York park.
Police have issued the picture in an effort to find anybody who could tell them who the man is.
A police spokesman confirmed that little information had been offered by the public, despite the attack happening two days ago.
The attacker approached the woman as she walked from a corner shop in Scarcroft Road on Sunday night.
She cut across Scarcroft Green, an open area between Scarcroft Road and Nunthorpe Road, and was attacked close to a children's play area.
The picture was created after extensive talks between the woman and specially-trained police officers.
The police spokesman said: "So far we have had very little response to an appeal for information.
"Hopefully this picture will change that."
The picture shows a distinctive dimple in the man's chin. He is thought to be in his mid to late 20s and about 5ft 10in tall with broad shoulders.
He has about a quarter-inch of fair and very fine cropped hair, and speaks with a local accent.
He was wearing an off-white or grey jacket, which had a stripe across the shoulder, and dark trousers.
Anybody with information is asked to contact Det Con Bryan Redshaw at York Police on 01904 631321.
The Evening Press today printed the suspect's face on posters which will be shown across our circulation area.
Sergeant Colin Ventress, of York Police, said: "We are grateful for the Evening Press's support and we hope it helps us find this man."
