AN aviation-mad couple turned back the clock for their wedding blessing at the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington at the weekend - and made the occasion a 1940s affair.
Ian and Gill Foster travelled to the museum from their home in Stirlingshire, Scotland, for their blessing on Saturday in the museum's chapel.
Ian, who is originally from Shipley, West Yorkshire, is an aviation enthusiast and has often visited the museum.
He and Gill wore 1940s outfits, as did all their 40 plus guests, who came from as far afield as the USA, Canada and Holland.
Their reception was held in the museum's NAAFI where 1940s entertainment was laid on. The menu included favourites like beef stew and dumplings and apple pie and custard.
Ian said: "I have a great interest in aviation and restoration and we come here as often as we can.
"We have a great respect for this era and presenting ourselves like this is not a disrespectful thing. Ian Richardson, from the museum, said it was the first such blessing to take place at the chapel, and had been arranged at the request of the couple.
