DO other motorists get as annoyed as I do at the Lawrence Street/Foss Islands junction, immediately in front of Walmgate Bar in York?
I have the misfortune to have to travel this way home every night. As I sit at the traffic lights waiting to turn right into Lawrence Street, traffic coming towards The Barbican bunches up back from the traffic lights by the Royal Dragon.
The whole central junction is yellow hatched, meaning further traffic should not join the back of the queue until their exit is cleared. But oh no, everyone has to just tack on behind to the car in front completely blocking the access right when the lights eventually change.
The same happens when it's the turn of traffic to turn right from Lawrence Street into Foss Islands.
Every night I see this happen and tempers flare as guilty drivers simply shrug in all innocence, pointing ahead to their blocked access oblivious to the fact that their car is illegally positioned on the junction.
It would help considerably if the now almost worn out hatched area was repainted, or occasionally there was a policeman strategically standing there acting as a visual deterrent.
