First Steps is my Nap choice to win the Thorpe Thompson Handicap on the sand track at Wolverhampton tomorrow.

Bryan Smart's three-year-old scored handsomely over this course and distance two weeks ago when beating Urban Myth by two and a half lengths.

Although she is set to race off a higher mark here, I espect First Steps to oblige again. Paul Eddery again has the mount.

Nomore Mr Niceguy, who has had a long losing run, can gain an overdue success by winning the Zongalero Handicap.

Eric Alston's gelding has run several good races in defeat this season and, although termed by some as a "professional loser", there is no doubting he has enough ability to win a race of this nature.

Also worth noting at Wolverhampton are the promising Abbey Park (2.40) and the in-form Golden Rod (4.40).

Tomorrow's Yarmouth meeting is in doubt following heavy rain over the weekend. There was to be an inspection this afternoon to decide if the course is fit for racing

If the meeting goes ahead, I fancy Mick Ryan's stalwart Silk St John, who ran with credit without any reward at York earlier this month, to win prize money in the £10,000 Tote Exacta Handicap.

A more than able performer in recent years, Silk St John has not won for some time and, as a result, he has slipped down the ratings to a very fair mark.

On Knavesmire a fortnight ago, he gave notice that his winning turn was not far away again when he finished fifth, beaten little more than three lengths, to Riverina in a 27-runner handicap.

Apprentice Derek McGaffin, in the saddle that day, takes the mount again tomorrow as Silk St John bids to get back on the glory trail. A bold show is anticipated.

Rosie's Posy can win the Evening News Crime Busters Conditions Stakes for Lambourn trainer Barry Hills.

The two-year-old belired her 10-1 odds on her debut at Bath at the beginning of the month when winning by threequarters of a length from Zargus.

Rosie's Posy, who overcame a slow start that day, is open to plenty of further improvement and it would not surprise me to see her following up tomorrow.

Quecha, who has been transferred from Saeed Bin Suroor to Ed Dunlop, should not be overlooked in the Pink 'Un Magazine Classic Maiden Stakes.

A very promising runner-up on her only outing last season, Quecha proved a bitter disappointment on her belated reappearance at Newcastle in August when she finished a well-beaten fourth after being sent off the odds-on favourite.

She is not one for punters to get too heavily involved in, but she does deserve another chance.

The British Gas Help The Aged Nursery looks a wide-open race, but Mr Wensleydale has shown a hint of ability and is not one to overlook at the foot of the weights.
