SELBY man Thomas Richardson appeared at York Crown Court today and pleaded not guilty to the murder of a firefighter from the town.
Richardson, 43, of Primrose Grove, is charged with murdering Andy Campbell, who lived in nearby Hempbridge Road.
The 40-year-old retained firefighter died almost instantly after a single stab wound to the chest sustained during an incident on August 5 this year. A trial has been set for January 28, 2002 at York Crown Court. Richardson remains on bail on the condition that he lives at an address notified to the court and that he does not contact any of the Crown's witnesses.
