South Bank moved to the top of Leeper Hare York and District League division one after a 4-3 victory over Haxby Town.

Dave Hyde won the game in the second half after six goals were shared in the first.

David Thompson netted a hat-trick for Haxby, but it was in vain as South Bank scored through a Graham Bootland penalty, Simon Kehoe and Mark Belleh.

They also missed two penalties but Hyde made sure it didn't matter.

Norwich Union had an easy 4-0 win at Wigginton Black Horse with goals from Chris Long (2), Steve Arksey and Fonawah Atang.

Andy Bonarious put Post Office one up against St John's College with a delicate chip on 20 minutes and the students had to wait until the 80th minute before John Bygroves deservedly equalised.

Osbaldwick were five up at Huby through James Whallen, James Luck, Andy Triffitt, Joe Depa and an own goal before the hosts got on the scoresheet through Tom Green and substitute Lee Goodwin.

Haxby & Wigginton stay top of division two despite suffering their first league defeat of the season.

Rich Hunt gave them a first-half lead at Easingwold but the hosts dominated the second half with Richard Barrett stealing the show and the points with two goals. His second was a fine solo effort.

Mark Flood and Graham Butcher netted for Cop but David Bonner hit a hat-trick for Heworth.

Elsewhere, Stillington and Hamilton Panthers cancelled each other out in a scoreless draw.

Strensall went two up at home to Rawcliffe Rangers in the first half but Brendan Tether and Darren Wray brought Rangers level.

Then a defensive mix-up presented Strensall with the lead again and they got a further goal in the last minute. Nigel Lyle, Nick Pipe (2) and Shaun Lyons were the Strensall marksmen.

Marton cum Grafton were made to pay for a combination of dreadful finishing and fine saves by Elvington's debut goalkeeper, 17-year-old Tom Brownlow, as they lost 3-2.

Despite creating many chances Marton had only a John Brear goal to their credit by half-time.

Elvington looked unlikely to break through until a quick break forced a penalty and Paul Culkin stepped up to level the scores.

Five minutes later Culkin hit a 20-yard free-kick into the top corner and minutes later Elvington were awarded another penalty with Culkin completing his hat-trick.

Marton resumed command for the last quarter and scored through John Watson but it was not enough.

Poppleton netted five of the six goals scored in their home win against Wilberfoss.

Joe Vaughan and Matt Graham managed two apiece into the visitors' net but an own goal put Wilberfoss back in the game and Mark Tomlinson managed another in the second half for 'Foss as the game finished 4-2 to Poppleton.
