OSBALDWICK retained their York John Smith's Men's League unbeaten record in dramatic style and Jack Hodgson, the veteran in the side, was the driving force.

Holgate overcame a 180 from John Holden to take a 3-1 lead. But Hodgson hit back with an excellent 180 for 18 darts and was there to partner Holden at number nine, and get the decider with 82 game shot.

Division two joint leaders Cygnet 'B' produced an 8-1 win, Derek Hartley scoring 180 in 20 darts, against Groves while Institute 'A' team's 6-3 victory at Sun 'B' included 21 darts from Pete Watson.

Alan Ashby partnered Mick Shepherd to win Slip's decider against Phoenix and Tony Martin paired with Pete McNichol to earn Swan a 5-4 win at Horseman.

Sun 'A' kept a clean sheet at Flag. Tony Cooper gamed in 17 which was well consolidated by Bill Hopcutt (18) and Doug Sutcliffe (21).

A rearranged Cygnet 'A' match at Dringhouses had John Dykes leading a 7-2 victory with 20 darts but against Poacher the going got tough, despite fine wins by John Mooring (21) then David Mason (19).

Poacher's Shaun Day shot a super 17 darts while Ray McInally partnered Gary Kynman to collect the 5-4 decider and the aggregate by four. Poacher lead division one.

Mick Percival was a maximum scorer then played with Rich Saville to take a 5-4 for Shepherd 'B' against Yearsley.

Alan Shipley threw an excellent 18 darts for Dringhouses and John Crowe 21, but Shepherd 'A' went on to win 6-3. Mark Jones was a 180 scorer and Mick Willsden returned 21 darts.

Saddle upset Trafalgar's plans by beating them 6-3, Alistair Horne-Billy Morrison securing the match while Green Tree 'B' were stunned by Vaults' Phil Smith (21) and Garry Strider, who also took the decider. Tree's Gary Wensley gamed in 21 darts.

Green Tree 'A' had Steve Ellis recording a maximum but went down 6-3 at Institute 'B'.

Paul Cooper included a maximum 180 while shooting a magnificent 15 darts for Bay Horse in their York Atlas Auto Services League division one encounter with Tap and Spile.

Bay took the opening three games but Tap hit back to level which included 20 darts from John Smith. Bay, with Allan Galley among the tons, then took all the pairs and secured the aggregate.

Dave Pilmoor notched a maximum as Escrick beat Clifton 'B' 7-2, while a 17 darter from Martyn Turner and Graham Sanderson with 18, spearheaded Clifton 'A' to an 8-1 at Bishopthorpe, whose Tony Raymond and John Rolls prevented the whitewash.

Two 140s for 18 from Ian Johnstone got Slipper off to fine start at Mitre. However, John Pickering included 180 for 16 darts to put Mitre in the driving seat then 180 from Russ Armstrong got the win and the aggregate.

Woolpack top division two after a good win at Crescent 'A' and Cygnet won 7-2 against Crescent 'B'. John Clemit (20) stood out and was backed by an excellent 23 darts 701 from Paul Lane and Sam McCracken.

Huntington 'A' team's quest for honours were boosted with a 7-2 win at Burton, while Graham Hudson recorded 20 in their narrow victory against Fulford Arms, whose best was Simon Collins. Howden's Steve Burton scored well to take the win over Acomb CC.

In division three, Yearsley had Geoff Mudd in 20-dart form to beat Bumper and 180 for 20. Steve Parkinson was outstanding for Leeman against Jackdaw, while Craig Norrie won the opener for Winning Post then the last pairs, notching a maximum. However, these were Post's only points.

York Arms lead division four but had to come back from 4-0 down at Woodman. Jane Dobson and Roz Kerr were outstanding for Arms. Hospital Social Club had a good 6-3 result over Crown while Ali Wray and James Medley won the decider for Bay Horse 'B' at Ship.
