I LIKED the report 'Did you spend the swinging 60s at Joseph Rowntree School?' (October 12).
That was an unforgettable era of great music, with rock, pop and soul releases providing a good choice of records.
Also, the record tracks were free from all today's manufactured background noises. All you got was a song and its accompaniment, therefore both were much clearer and fuller.
This was important because you would often get extended chords with extra tones, while the Beatles loved switching the key centre by implying tones that belonged to another key.
We just took it for granted that one great record would follow another, but reaching into the 1970s new people had new ideas.
So I hope the Joseph Rowntree School's Sixties reunion gets off to a good start with all the old unforgettable records.
