YORK Wasps RL Club's chief executive Ann Garvey has not ruled out a move for record-breaking full-back Jamie Benn.

The 24-year-old, who has already had two spells at Huntington Stadium, has just been released from his contract with Featherstone after just six weeks at the club.

Rovers coach Peter Roe said Benn, a recent capture from near neighbours Castleford Tigers, had been unable to train regularly with the club due to "other commitments".

And although the reasons for that have not been confirmed, Garvey has stated that another return to Huntington Stadium would not be out of the question for the goalkicking ace.

However, she added that the club have their eyes on another full-back so an approach, if any, would have to wait.

"I had contact with Jamie Benn long before he went to Featherstone but not since then," Garvey told the Evening Press.

"We're looking at a full-back somewhere else and I don't know if we will therefore talk to him. At the moment I'm not looking at it but I never say never."

Benn holds the Wasps' record of goals and points in a match - 13 and 30, respectively, against Oldham in August, 1999 - and later earned a call-up to the Scotland squad.

He had made his debut for the club the previous season, and went on to join Keighley and onto Castleford Tigers. He returned for the start of last season but quit the club for the Tigers' Alliance team last year after the Wasps entered into the company voluntary agreement.

* Doncaster have signed former Halifax and Auckland Warriors loose forward Martin Moana, 28, on a two-year contract. Moana, who played for the New Zealand Maoris in last year's World Cup, finished the season with relegated Super League club Huddersfield.
