LEEDS UNITED footballer Michael Bridges made a striking impression on diners yesterday as he opened a new dining spot in a York city centre store.
The 23-year-old Premiership player was making an appearance at the new-look coffee shop at the Marks and Spencer store in Coppergate.
Currently out of action with a knee injury, he has recently returned from the USA, where specialists treating him instructed him to rest for six weeks.
He will make a return visit to the States later in the year when he will hopefully be told that he can return to the game before the end of the season.
In the meantime, daily visits to his team mates at Elland Road are said to be keeping his spirits up.
On opening the new first-floor caf, he said he was: "happy to do it" and thought the new look "very eye-catching."
