A REUNION of York dancers from the 1940s and 1950s received a boost - when it was joined by two of the dance school's nonagenarian teachers.
Dancers from the Three Graces school, which was run in Clifford Street between the 1920s and 1950s, met at the Holgate Hill Hotel on Sunday.
Most of the former pupils who turned up are in their 60s, but the stars for the day were sisters Doris Wadeson and Clarice Tudor (ne Turner), who were two of the original "Three Graces".
Despite being in their 90s, the two spent a full day at the reunion. And, said former Three Graces pupil Judith Ruddy, they had not lost any of their sharpness.
"It was great to see them. They still know exactly what is going on and they are still very clued up about dancing.
"The fact that they can come along makes the reunion that bit more special," said Judith, 65.
Also among the group was a member of the world famous Tiller Girls, who were famed for their high-kicking shows at the London Palladium.
