City of York II were unlucky not to come away with all three points from their 1-1 draw with Stockton I after a late goal was disallowed.
Stockton's initial speed yielded an opening goal but York settled down and began to play good hockey, forcing a few short corners from one of which Luke Ramli hit the post.
Soon after Oliver Couttie was fouled in the circle and City drew level when skipper Graham Cook put away the penalty stroke.
York then forced more chances and could well have had another penalty after a foul on Ramli.
In the second half, Stockton began with ten men, one of their players having been red-carded, and reorganised themselves.
York had chances, the best coming with two minutes to go when Roz Ramli blazed the ball across the circle and Couttie calmly flicked it into the top corner of the net.
But one umpire adjudged the ball had struck Couttie's foot and it was disallowed.
The draw was a fair result but the hosts would have had no real complaint had York won in a tussle in which Luke Ramli and Couttie had excellent games.
City of York III, with a display of quick possession, dominated the first half of their 5-3 win against Hull III.
City have strengthened their midfield and that showed early on, and Adam Jackson scored a penalty on ten minutes to put them ahead.
Five minutes later Jackson's through-ball to Jason Bemrose was tucked away.
Matt Todd and Bemrose then combined in a breakaway, setting up Andrew Wilson for City's third goal befored Todd scored the fourth.
Hull trimmed the deficit just before half-time.
After the interval the game deteriorated, but despite the scrappy nature Hull pulled one back with a penalty but Adam Jackson put the game beyond their reach with a fierce shot.
City of York IV lost 3-1 at Sheffield University Bankers VI after fielding only ten men. Despite this, City put up a sterling display to keep the score goalless at the half-way mark.
But ten minutes after the break, Bankers took the lead and then extended it five minutes later.
A well-struck short corner by Jules Bellerby put City back in it, but despite numerous short corners, City were unable to equalise.
From a prolonged melee in City's goalmouth, Bankers increased the margin.
City of York V drew 0-0 at home to Normanby Park II starting promisingly but then going off the boil.
Park went down to nine men but even then York were unable to score. It was an unprepossessing display but, considering that Normanby Park had come down from a higher division, York were content to accept the point.
City of York VI had a typically bruising encounter with West Yorkshire Police who were well on top for most of their 3-1 win.
Police had a strong midfield duo who drove their team to force numerous short corners and after ten minutes they took the lead.
City drew level from a short corner, David da Silva scoring, but Police regained the lead before half-time. After the break City hit the post and then had a shot well saved. Alan Lynn and Nick Longster played well for York.
City of York VII were without a game, while City of York VIII had a hard fought 2-0 win at Sheffield University Bankers X.
Bankers created several chances in the first half but were held at bay. In the second half City took the initiative and an excellent ball from Denis Hooton found Tom Sorby who had his initial shot saved by the 'keeper, but put away the rebound.
Bankers then raised their game and Nick Wright did well to keep a clean sheet.
Pressure was lifted when Alistair Blacklee played the ball from defence to Doug Thompson, who took it on a long solo run before planting it in the net.
