City of York Under-16 boys started their Yorkshire League campaign with two wins and a draw.
A goal against the run of play put Ben Rhydding ahead before John Raper equalised when he screamed a shot in from the edge of the 'D'.
Despite fierce pressure they could muster just one more goal from Jonathon Jenkins.
They then tore a weak Huddersfield side apart 5-0, slick hockey yielding goals for Alex Cochram (2), Luke Ramli and the Jenkins brothers.
But the goals dried up in a clash against Gateshead. Despite York's domination the tie ended 0-0, Luke Ramli going the closest.
City of York Under-12 girls swept away all opposition in their first Yorkshire Youth League session of the season. They warmed up with a 5-0 victory over Colne Valley, Amelia Smalley opening the scoring from a short corner strike.
Open play goals from Rebecca Harris, Heather Stafford and Smalley sealed the win.
York went two better in their next outing when they battered Brigg 7-0 with Smalley (5), Stafford and Judith Evans on target.
The goal feast improved yet more as York overwhelmed Leeds 9-0 with all the outfield players getting on the scoresheet by the end of the day.
Defenders Nicky Shepherdson and Hannah Longster notched a goal apiece to add to strikes from Harris (3), Smalley (2), Evans and Stafford.
Anna Ramli spent a patient day in goal, only having to make one save to keep a clean sheet.
