Tadcaster men started their league campaign with a 5-3 defeat against Wakefield III.
A battling display in the opening half saw Tad trail 2-1, with a goal from Peter Barnett sandwiched by strikes from Wakefield.
However, the second half saw Wakefield dominate, adding three more goals before Barnett and Cattle both netted to make the score more respectable.
Tadcaster II came back from 2-0 down at home to Leeds IV to snatch a 2-2 draw late on.
Taddy were down to ten men within five minutes as Mally Stewart went off with a facial injury and Leeds took advantage with a series of attacks resulting in the opener.
Taddy 'keeper Sutton then saved a penalty flick but the Leeds pressure paid off as they went 2-0 up with a well-worked goal.
Stewart returned for the second half but Tad were forced into defence where Beardmore and Roy Jewitt, backed up by Sutton, played well.
Stewart pulled one back from a short corner and with five minutes left man of the match Jewitt's 70-yard pass saw Rob Hill slot home. Leeds pressed for a winner but Tad held out.
