Kieren Fallon, who had to settle for fourth-place on Golan in yesterday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe - won in scintillating style by Frankie Dettori on impressive York International winner Sakhee - travels to Catterick in search of more modest fare tomorrow.
Fallon, heading towards his fourth championship title, should not leave the North Yorkshire course empty-handed.
He has good prospects on board Bacchanalia in the Tote Exacta Fillies' Nursery.
Trained at Hambleton by Les Eyre, the two-year-old got off the mark in pleasing style at Chester recently when beating the favourite Sewmuch Character by a neck. Open to further improvement, Bacchanalia can double her score here.
Fallon can be given a successful leg-up by another local trainer when he partners Chemicalattraction for Richard Fahey in the Nottinghamshire Handicap.
A winner at Hamilton two outings ago, Chemicalattraction finished a good second at Haydock on his latest outing, which represented an improvement in form. He should go well in this mile and a half event.
Fallon has yet another winning chance aboard Zargus in division two of the Lancashire Maiden Stakes. Willie Muir's two-year-old sprinter has finished second on both his outings to date. A third-time-lucky bid is anticipated.
Backwoods carries the Nap vote in the Skyram Handicap over two miles. Trained by Mark Brisbourne, who has had an excellent campaign, Backwoods met trouble in running when chasing home Allez Mousson at Ayr last time.
With Keith Dalgleish in the saddle, he is strongly fancied to go one better tomorrow.
Over the sticks at Southwell, Minster York is selected to get back on the winning trail in the Bilberries At Nuneaton Novices' Handicap Chase.
Trained at Middleham by Andy Crook, Minster York finished fourth at Perth on his latest outing but had previously scored by five length at Sedgefield. This looks a good opportunity for the seven-year-old to return to the winning groove.
The Durham Ox At Beeston Handicap Chase has been targetted by Scottish trainer Sue Bradburne for Cottstown Boy, and the ten-year-old should take plenty of beating. The gelding comes into this race on the back of a recent win at Perth.
Somayya looks a cut above the opposition contesting the Murphy's Irish Stout Handicap at Wolverhampton tomorrow.
Marcus Tregoning's charge began her career as a three-year-old and made a promising debut at the beginning of May finishing second to Aravonian over Warwick's mile.
Last month Somayya won over an extended 11 furlongs at Lingfield by threequarters of a length from Missouri and showed she could be better over further. Tomorrow's race is over a mile and a half.
