Leeper Hare York and District League League newcomers Sheriff Hutton took over at the top of division three on goal difference after they overcame the challenge of third-placed LNER Builders 4-3.
Russell Holmes and Nick Wilson netted in the first half for Sheriff Hutton but Jamie Williams netted twice for the Builders to level matters.
In the second half Williams completed his hat-trick to put the Builders in front only for Stephen Jefferson to equalise and seven minutes from time Holmes bagged his second to snatch the points for Sheriff Hutton.
Paul Jones scored twice in the first half for Moor Lane at home to Hemingbrough but the visitors pulled the score back by half-time.
The second half remained scoreless until the last minute when Andrew Kenyon snatched a dramatic winner for Moor Lane.
Wheldrake continued their improved form this season with a 3-1 win at Wilberfoss. Mark Bilton, Phil Qua and an own goal gave them victory. Shaun Hodgson scored for the home side.
Elvington Harriers and Poppleton drew 3-3 in an entertaining game, the highlight of which was the Poppleton equaliser with three minutes to go, scored by substitute Dave Asbury with a David Beckham-style goal from a free kick.
Poppleton were two up through Matthew Woodcock and a Dave Asbury penalty before the young Harriers side fought their way back into the game with goals from two 16-year-olds, John Garnham and Neil Alexander.
Garnham put Elvington in front before Asbury emulated his famous England counterpart to gab a deserved point.
Two first half penalties from John Watson gave Marton cum Grafton their first win of the season, at home to Strensall.
Chris Graham pulled one back for the visitors before the break but neither side could find the net in the second half.
Selby RSSC went to second in the table with a 6-1 thumping of Rawcliffe Rangers.
