SORRY to be an anorak, but your front page story (October 1) about the 0814 being the fastest scheduled train ever to King's Cross is wrong.
Until the Hatfield disaster a year ago, and certainly since 1998, the 0815 arrived at King's Cross also at 0959 (if not before) - so it took a minute less.
The 0814 is hardly "nine minutes faster". It is one minute slower.
