JOHN Pickering threw a splendid 115-finish for 18 darts as Mitre recorded an emphatic victory in their York Atlas Auto Services League division one encounter with Clifton 'B'.
Mitre also had Dave Binks out in 21 darts and Russ Armstrong with 18, while Darrel Blake was Clifton's singles winner.
Escrick were 201 up but Tap took the next four which included a 20- darter from John Smith and 21 by Mick Nixon, who wrapped up the aggregate point between them.
Slipper beat Bishopthorpe by taking the first five games. Pete Turnbull (19) was in good form while Dave King was Bishopthorpe's best.
In division two, Woolpack beat Howden 6-3 after taking all the pairs. However, Howden hung on to the aggregate with good scores from Andy Cass.
Ebor had Dean Platt (20) spearheading them to victory at Huntington 'A', whose main reply was from Karen Richardson.
Acomb beat Crescent 'B' with Dave Tute in good form, while Crescent 'A' went down to a strong Burton. Fulford Arms were demolished by Cygnet. Billy Wylie was Fulford's only win.
Leeman head division three after victory over Bumper and Yearsley beat Indoor Bowls 7-2.
Inspired by Phil Good, Six Bells beat Winning Post 6-3, while Mark Sommerville (20) put up determined resistance as Jackdaw went down 6-3 to Huntington 'B'.
Clifton 'C' top division four after beating York Arms 5-4. Barry Smith and Mark Robertson secured the aggregate point while the top player for York was Mal Smith.
Crown against Mount went to the wire but Nigel Blackburn partnered Mike Holgate to get the verdict. However big scores from Geoff Holmes saved the aggregate point. Health Club lost 5-4 to Bay Horse 'B' whose Phil Kellett starred.
Last season's York John Smith's Men's League division one champions, Shepherd 'A' were beaten by Cygnet.
Keith Turner (19) and a 101-finish for 21 from John Mooring gave Cygnet a 4-1 lead, but Shepherd, with Barry Davidson recording a maximum, drew level. Mooring partnered John Dykes to get the decider.
Trafalgar had 20 darts from Kelvin Frankel and Ron Simpson a 180 scorer. But boosted with 20 darts by Chris Thompson, Sun 'A' took three pairs for victory. Doug Sutcliffe partnering Mick Reagan, checked 86 on bull in the decider.
Stan Jackson took out a 116-finish for 21 darts in helping Green Tree 'B' beat Shepherd 'B'. while Poacher's 6-3 win over Vaults included 19 darts from Ray McInally.
Paul Calpin set Flag off with four tons for 18 darts and Keith Allen-Mick Lambert took the 5-4 winner against Yearsley.
Derrick Hudson shot a fine 20 darts as Holgate outgunned Phoenix 7-2, while Paul Hayes started in style for Swan and Pete McNichol shot out on 102.
Barry Houlden, the Groves skipper, checked 115 and with Paul Shepherd made it four apiece for Dave Atkin-Chris Flanagan to get the last game win at Lighthorseman.
Cygnet 'A's team comprehensive York John Smith's Mixed League victory over Golden Slipper 'B' included a superb 16-darter from Kevin Walton.
Huntington 'A' won 7-2 at Victoria Vaults 'B' with the help of good finishes by Joan Hunter (85) and Rich Plummer (108) while Bumper took the decider at Leeman 'B' with Dave O'Hara-Sheila Reynolds.
Three Tuns were up against it as only Stephen Knights got on the scoresheet in their tussle with Cygnet 'B'.
