JOHN Smith's Sunday League Challenge Trophy holders Wigginton were given a big scare in their quest to retain the trophy when they were taken to extra time by Hounds.
Collier gave Hounds the lead in the first half which was cancelled out by an equaliser from Dickinson. Hounds regained the advantage through Jackson but Ogle fired home for Wigginton to take the game into the extra period.
Two goals from Adam Wash finally sealed victory for the home side 4-2.
Kevin Deighton gave New Earswick an early lead against Carlton and James Vine added a second on the half hour. Carlton came out in the second half and went close on several occasions before a disputed penalty from Neil Walker and a further strike from Kev Deighton deservedly put Earswick through.
A storming first half performance saw Derwent United lead Volunteers 4-0 courtesy of goals from Wilford (2), Barker and Cooke. Volunteers woke up in the second half and goals from Bond, Bilham and Barley narrowed the deficit but try as they might they couldn't find the equaliser and Derwent squeezed through 4-3.
Selby Olympia cruised to a 3-0 win in their derby against Riccall courtesy of goals from Chris Harkin (2) and Craig Hewitt.
Jubilee had to come from behind twice before finally winning 3-2 against Fulford Bay, Moore, Brown and Fielder their scorers, with Lockley and Leaf on target for Fulford. Charlie Bond scored twice as Pocklington thumped Derwent Arms 7-1.
In the Mecca Trophy first round Barlby Athletic went in at half time 2-1 up in their tie with Wanderers. But a stirring second-half fight-back from the visitors saw them run out worthy 5-3 winners with goals from Michael Cammidge (2), Lawrence Murray, Lee Fisher and Pete Ruane, Paul Hughes (2) and Hickling scoring for Barlby.
Beefeater took control early on in their game against Northern Wall with Sam James scoring his second hat-trick of the season. Steve Lorains hit a fourth late on to seal a 4-0 win.
Dan Lindsey scored twice as Black Bull beat Raskelf 5-0. Bastock and Franks both hit two as Opticare also won 5-0 at Heworth.
Gardham and Russell went one better as they each hit three apiece in Bishopthorpe's 8-1 win over Otis Bar.
Foy Ryan was on target four times for Haxby Lions as they also won 8-1 against Derwent United Reserves.
Two well-taken goals from Neil Yeowart proved to be in vain as a skilful CPP side overcame Northern Spirit 6-3 with goals from Joel Hardy (3), Neil Davies (2) and Rich Staples.
Acomb Sports Club dominated early proceedings with two goals in the first ten minutes. Robin Ellis gave Inland Revenue brief hope after 65 minutes but two further goals gave Acomb a comfortable 4-1 win.
Anthony Robinson scored four and Steve Crosby three as York Nomads overwhelmed Poppleton Road Red Stars 11-0.
