YORK City boss Terry Dolan today confirmed top scorer Michael Proctor's stay at Bootham Crescent has been extended.

Proctor's current loan agreement from Sunderland ends after Saturday's home game with Exeter, but Dolan has reached agreement to keep the 21-year-old for another month.

However, Dutchman Michael Evans' hopes of securing a permanent deal have ended - for the time being at least.

Evans has now returned to Holland after a hamstring injury limited his opportunities to shine during his month-long stay at City.

Dolan explained there was little point in City extending his short-term contract because it is estimated Evans will be out of action for up to four weeks.

However, the City chief admitted his interest in Evans is not definitely at an end.

"We may have a look at him once he is back on his feet," he said.
