Tadcaster and District Amateur Operatic Society will stage its latest production, Sweet Charity, from Monday, October 15, to Saturday, October 20, starting at 7.30pm.
Shirley Maclean made the all singing and dancing show famous in the film version in the 1960s - and the popular Tadcaster group is hoping for some packed audiences.
Talented local singer Alison French plays the role of Charity Hope Valentine, a dance hall hostess who makes her fair share of mistakes on the rocky road to finding Mr Right.
Alison said: "I'm thrilled to have been chosen to play the demanding role of Charity, and the rest of the cast are absolutely marvellous."
The show, to be staged at Tadcaster's Riley Smith Hall, includes famous songs such as Big Spender and If They Could See Me Now.
Steve Padfield plays Charity's unexpected love interest, Oscar Lindquist.
Jilly-Anne Wilson is producer and musical director, and Angela Edwards is choreographer.
Balcony tickets are £8 (£7 concessions) and stall tickets £7 (£6 concessions). They are available from booking secretary Diana Watson on 01937 843095.
