Cricketers from across Britain are heading to North Yorkshire next month to celebrate the 150th anniversary of one of the North's oldest clubs.
Thirsk Cricket Club, founded in 1851, is trying to trace former players to help celebrate its anniversary at a dinner-dance on November 24, where former Yorkshire and England star Freddie Trueman will be guest speaker.
So far 150 former players have been invited but Thirsk, who play in the Hunters The Estate Agent York and District League, have extended the booking deadline until October 31 to allow more ex-players to be traced.
For further details on the celebrations contact Thirsk CC secretary Bob Hesk on 01845 522132.
