Helmsley YFC is back and is starting on Tuesday, October 16, with a meeting in the Methodist schoolrooms, Ashdale Road, Helmsley at 7.30pm.
It has being a long time since we last met due to the foot and mouth crisis which has affected all the clubs in the county and some more than others.
Although the disease hasn't stopped yet in Cumbria, the County Federation of YFCs feels it's now safe to resume meetings and start puting YFC back together.
The first meeting's agenda is to gather some ideas together of what we can do for our winter programme as stockjudging and any farm visits aren't possible yet and not for the foreseeable future.
New members are very welcome and this is an ideal opportunity for you to come along and see what we do. The club is open to 10-26 year olds and we are a mainly younger based club.
All the members who paid their subcriptions for this year will get free membership for 2002 as we have lost most of the year due to foot and mouth.
The County Ball is going ahead and is on Saturday, October 13, at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, and tickets are £5 each, dress code Black Tie/Lounge Suit. There is an age restriction on this ball of strictly and over. Any enquiries about the county ball tickets or Helmsley YFC, please contact chairman Andrew Carter on (01439) 798282.
