FORMER York City goalkeeper Nick Culkin could be poised to face Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers.
Livingston manager Jim Leishman is in talks with Manchester United in a bid to sign the ex-City ace on loan.
The Scottish Premier League new boys' number one Javier Broto faces a long stretch on the sidelines after breaking his leg against Hibernian.
Culkin spent last season on loan at Bristol Rovers, then in Division Two, in order to get first-team experience.
His chances of first team football at Old Trafford have been further limited by United's acquisition of Northern Ireland international Roy Carroll, who is now deputy to World Cup winner Fabien Barthez.
Another ex-City junior Chris Hogg will take centre stage for England Under-17s tonight when the young lions take on Spain in a friendly at Bristol City.
Centre-back Hogg, who joined Ipswich Town in the summer, will be pitting his wits against one of Europe's top sides.
Last summer Spain won the UEFA European Under-16 championships defeating France 1-0 in the final.
England, bossed by former City reserve Dick Bate, reached the semi-finals.
