ALEXANDRA Damazer's love for lacrosse has put her in line to win a top award from the BBC.
Alexandra, a 14-year-old pupil at Escrick's Queen Margaret's School, entered the e-mail category of the BBC Sport 'Passion for Sport Award' - a competition aimed at giving 11-16-year-olds the chance to show how much they love sport - with a poem about lacrosse goalkeeping.
All the pupils in the third year at the school entered the competition last year, but only Alexandra's effort was selected as one of the 72 regional finalists nationwide.
If Alexandra, now a fourth-year pupil comes through the regional final, she will then battle it out for the national prize.
