York RI U15's bowed out of the first round of the Yorkshire Cup beaten 31-5 by Cleckheaton.
In the first quarter defences were on top before Cleckheaton opened the scoring with a converted try.
RI responded with vigour with Josh Binns going over for a try only to be disallowed, so half-time came with just seven points separating the sides.
Flowing rugby from both teams continued but a breakaway try increased the hosts' lead to 12 points.
Then RI conceded a soft converted try leaving the visitors to muster just a consolation try as Robin Brice kicked through.
However, it was business as usual for York RUFC under-12s at Selby.
York's early pressure was rewarded when Joe Maud crossed for the first try, which Fraser converted. Resilient defending kept the Selby attackers at bay.
In the second half York's Harrison broke from his own 22 running the full length of the pitch only to be denied by an outstanding cover tackle.
York recycled the ball well and moved it swiftly along the backs. Maud again went on the blind side slipping the ball to Jonathan Frank who managed to force his way over in the corner.
It wasn't long before another slick handling move saw Sebastian Batchelor crash over for a well deserved try. Fraser completed his hat-trick of conversions as York won 21-0.
In the second game seven York debutants had a run out against Pocklington.
Particularly impressive was new lock Brian Wright who used his considerable height and size advantage well in the lineout before crashing over for a debut try.
Oliver Hawkins and Joseph Maud again finished off chances well, and Fraser converted all three kicks for a 21-0 win.
