Nomads endured a grueller on a gin-clear Selby Canal at Brayton on Sunday.
An absence of boat traffic and falling temperatures saw the fish retreat for cover in the tap water-like cut.
Russ Walker (Anglers Corner) stepped from the shadows of his in-form brother Grant to net victory from permanent peg 21. Pole fishing squatt tight across he was happily pulling out small roach and perch.
His luck was to change when a huge perch of 1lb 11oz took a liking to a smaller perch as it was being played. The big stripey kept its stubborn grip and was duly netted boosting his winning score to 3-14-0.
After winning the last Bob Co event at the Willows on Saturday, York garage entrepreneur Mick Addinall (FAPS Bradford) missed out on a memorable double taking second from peg 41.

Gordon Fenell (Acomb Tackle) missed out on the £200 golden peg prize with his 2lb 8oz of perch from peg 48.
The Clattercote charabanc remains financed for another week.
Unluckiest angler was Wood-thorpe construction technician Bob Morris who would have surely troubled the lower end of the prize list but for his misfortune.
After working hard for a number of tiny and roach he discovered a hole the size of a dinner plate in his keep net through which every last fish had made its escape.
Dave Maddison (York) took 46lb 8oz to top the midweek open at Carpvale.
With carp no longer taking baits off the surface, meat has come to the fore as the bait of choice. And Dave netted ten carp on pole and meat from peg 33
Dave Spence (Leeds) had 41lb 10oz for second after bagging a dozen carp on feeder and meat from peg 5. Third went to Dave Wright (Armley Angling) with 28lb 8oz
The Ouse at Aldwark was carrying three feet of floodwater for Sunday's 37-entry Leeds open and odd big fish dominated.
Tommy Pitts (Marsh Tackle) had two bream on caster feeder from the sand above the bridge for his 7lb 3oz.
Bob Cramner (Armley Angling) netted a 6lb 9oz barbel on lob for second. Bill Collier (Union) had a chub and some, plus eels for his 6lb 3oz and Tony Hewson (Armley Angling) took an all bleak 5lb 9oz.
Geoff Cross (The Oaks) topped Sunday's 54-entry at his home venue from peg 2 on Maple Lake.
After taking a number of small carp across on pellet he switched his attentions down the track with meat to carry on bagging the pasties. He finished with 38lb 2oz of fish to 12oz.
Narrowly missing out on the golden peg jackpot of £200 was Clive Stokes (Selby), who completed a good weekend from noted peg 62.
Fishing corn over and inside he bagged carp to 3lb for his level 37lb. The previous day Stokes had won the Gas AC on the Calder at Mirfield with over 13lb of prime roach.
Others: Mark Lucas (Ted Carter Preston) 27-0-0; John McGarill (MAP Elton) 21-14-0; Mick Herrington (Headingley Angling) and Dave Pimlott (Keenets Elton) both 20-12-0.
Some 82 anglers lined up at all five match lakes at the Woodlands complex for a pairs contest.
Top individual weight went to Paul Taylor (MAP Elton) with 74lb 6oz from Swallow 2. Fishing cat meat at 14 metres he found four foot of water at the bottom the island ledge.
He bagged over 20 carp with a best fish a common of 6lb. Over on Dragonfly peg 10 Lyndon Roberts (MAP Elton) was getting stuck into serious elastic stretching. He fished meat at 12 metres and had just 15 carp for his 63lb. His best fish was a massive common just two ounces shy of 20lb.
Others: Dean Smith (Van den Eynde Goole) 58-8-0; Darryl Taylor (MAP Elton) 55-13-0; Dave Cooper (Darlington Angling Centre) 55-11-0; Paul Jones (MAP Elton) 54-10-0.
The winning pair were Lyndon Roberts and Keith Kotchie (MAP Elton) with five points.
