ANTI-WAR protesters are to march through the streets of York on Saturday to demonstrate against the planned war against Afghanistan.
Demonstrators will assemble at Clifford's Tower at 10.30am and march through the city to a rally at St Sampson's Square
The demonstration was called by a 70-strong public meeting last week, which also voted to establish "York Against the War" - a coalition including the Green Party, the Socialist Alliance and the city's Muslim community.
The group has collected hundreds of signatures on a petition calling on the USA, Britain and their allies not to attack Afghanistan in revenge for the devastation of New York and Washington.
