TOP dog! Westler Foods, the famous hot dog manufacturer, has awarded 7 Day Catering the contract to deliver a new "high speed" catering operation at the factory's headquarters at Amotherby, near Malton. The deal is thought to be worth about £100,000 a year.
Special "grab and go" meals have been introduced as part of a strategy to cut queuing times and speed up the restaurant service for the family-owned food firm's 300 office and factory workers.
Staff surveys and even a times demonstration were conducted to help 7 Day secure the new contract against five industry rivals. It has assigned four permanent staff to work at the 80-seater restaurant under the guidance of operations manager Phil Turner.
The deal was sealed with a quick handshake between Westler chairman Iain Breese and 7-Day's managing director Mark Boothright.
