ACE poacher Michael Proctor doubled his tally for the season in York City's 3-1 win at Lincoln but shunned the limelight to heap praise on partner in crime Lee Nogan.
Proctor's two goals, coming at the beginning and end of the match, capped a fine individual performance from the on-loan Sunderland starlet and an assured team display from the Minstermen.
Proctor, who indicated his willingness to stay at Bootham Crescent after his current loan agreement ends on Saturday, admitted he owes a great debt to former Welsh international Nogan.
"I'm enjoying playing with Lee. He has got a lot of experience and he is passing it on to me with some of the little things he says during games," enthused Proctor.
"If you look at his work rate it is something to learn from and I'm really enjoying playing with him. We seem to be developing a decent understanding and things are going quite well at the moment."
He added: "Yes, I'd be happy to stay. I'm enjoying my football. I've just got to wait and see what Terry and Peter Reid at Sunderland can sort out."
It was Proctor's first goals since the 1-0 win over Halifax at the start of last month - ironically coming just as his first month-long loan agreement was coming to an end. Saturday's brace brings his tally to four in 12 senior appearances.
"It was nice to get a couple of goals, I haven't had too many chance in the last couple of games so its nice to get back on the score-sheet and boost up my tally," he admitted.
City boss Terry Dolan, who has indicated he wants to extend Proctor's stay for another month initially, was delighted with the performance of both his front-men.
"They worked hard but are probably a bit disappointed they didn't add to their tallies today," he said.
"They made and scored them but it could have been four or five."
Midfielder Christian Fox and striker Alex Mathie - both battling to get back to full fitness - were named in the reserves side to face Stoke City away today.
City reserves: Howarth, Thompson, Fielding, Smith, O'Kane, Richardson, Fox, Salvati, Ibbetson, Mathie. Subs: Collinson, Wood, Rhodes, Darlow, Vasey.
