A PENSIONER whose abandoned car was found five miles from his Malton home is still missing.
Police today continued to search for the 71-year-old man around Howe Bridge, where his car was found in a small lay-by on the A169 Malton to Pickering road.
The man, who has not been named by police, was reported missing on Friday evening, although he has not been seen by family members since Tuesday.
A four-hour search of the banks of the nearby rivers Derwent and Rye by the Scarborough and District Search and Rescue Team was called off on Saturday evening because of the high water levels and bad light.
Police search dogs brought in from Scarborough were also used to search roadside verges, fields and land near to where the man's car was found.
