Ryedale trainer John Quinn, who won a major sprint handicap at Ascot yesterday with Fantasy Believer, is poised to complete a notable double on the same course tomorrow.
Settrington-based Quinn saddles Smart Predator in the £25,000 Riggs Bank Rated Handicap and Darryll Holland's mount promises to take plenty of catching.
A much-improved performer this season, Smart Predator, winner of a valuable race at York in May, finished a cracking sixth in the Tote-Portland Handicap at Doncaster's St Leger meeting before confirming his well-being with a victory at Beverley earlier this week.
Smart Predator has earned a 3lb penalty for that success, but, from a stable in form, he is expected to make a bold bid to follow in the hoofprints of Fantasy Believer.
The nap vote is awarded to Free Will in the Royal Scots Classified Stakes at Musselburgh.
Andy Scott's gelding won in fine style at Pontefract recently and, plainly in excellent heart, looks capable of following-up in this pretty ordinary event. Seb
Sanders has the mount.
